Company Profile
Founded in 1998, Zhengzhou Wangu Machinery Co., Ltd. is a leading Chinese industrial drying equipment manufacturer — a state-level High-Tech Enterprise with ISO 9001 certification. With over two decades of drying engineering expertise, our products serve 50+ countries across Southeast Asia, Africa, South America, and the Middle East.
Wangu's partnership with Africa spans over a decade. Our equipment operates in sugar mills, breweries, livestock farms, and mines across Nigeria, South Africa, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Mozambique, and Ethiopia. We understand Africa's unique realities — unstable power grids, scarce skilled technicians, region-dependent fuel availability, and procurement processes involving international tenders — and have optimized our equipment design and delivery accordingly.
Market Context
Southeast Asia and Africa are at a critical juncture of industrialization and agricultural modernization. Four major industries face severe high-moisture waste challenges:
| Industry | Waste Type | Volume | Current Practic | Problem |
| Sugar | Cane bagasse | Global sugar production ~180M tonnes/year; each tonne generates ~2.5t wet bagasse | Mostly open-dumped; some inefficiently burned as boiler fuel | Massive land use, leachate contaminates groundwater & soil, spontaneous combustion risk in dry season |
| Brewing | Brewer's spent grain (BSG) | lobal beer production ~1.9B hl/year; each hl produces ~20kg wet BSG | Partially used as feed; mostly discarded | 80% moisture → rots within 48 hours, odor, frequent environmental fines |
| Livestock | Manure | Developing-market organic fertilizer growing 7.9%/year | Open piling or direct discharge into waterways | Water contamination, disease risk, carbon emissions |
| Mining | Coal sludge / mineral tailings | Major mining nations produce enormous volumes | Transported wet — extremely costly | Transport = 30%+ of operating cost; tailings dam safety hazards |
The core contradiction. This waste has real value — bagasse becomes biomass fuel or feed, BSG is a premium protein feed ingredient, manure makes organic fertilizer — but at 50–90% moisture, it's unusable as-is, and traditional sun drying simply can't keep up in tropical climates.
Product Introduction
The WGT Series Rotary Drum Dryer is a large-capacity continuous industrial drying machine specifically optimized for **high-moisture waste materials** — with key adaptations for emerging markets:
| Market Need | WGT Custom Solution |
| Unstable power, frequent outages | WGT150 needs only 7.5kW — runs on a small diesel generator; entire lineup is low-power |
| Natural gas unavailable or expensive | Coal/biomass-fired furnace** as primary option; also supports firewood/steam/natural gas |
| Few trained operators | One operator runs the entire line; simple, intuitive design |
| Indoor factory construction is expensive | Outdoor installation** — only a concrete foundation pad needed |
| International tender procurement | ISO 9001 certificate, SGS/TUV/BV inspection reports, full tender documentation provided |
| After-sales spare parts supply | Critical spares shipped with equipment; long-term parts supply commitment |
Handles materials with moisture content up to 90%, throughput 3.5–18 t/h (80–430 t/day), reduces to ≤12% in a single pass — turning waste into wealth: bagasse → biomass fuel/feed, spent grain → protein feed, manure → organic fertilizer, coal sludge → marketable fuel.
Customer challenges
| Challenges | Manifestation | Consequence |
| Bagasse & spent grain piling up | Sugar mills produce hundreds of tonnes of wet bagasse/day (50%+ moisture) during crush season; breweries produce tens of tonnes of wet BSG (80% moisture) — all open-dumped | Occupies acres of land; leachate contaminates groundwater; spontaneous combustion in dry season; environmental fines |
| Manure goes untreated | Large livestock operations with 85%+ moisture manure, no processing equipment | Water contamination → disease outbreaks; international buyers reject products |
| Unstable power supply | Weak grids in many regions; industrial outages are frequent | Equipment must be low-power and generator-compatible |
| Natural gas is unavailable | No gas pipeline network in many areas; imported LPG is expensive | Cannot rely on single fuel — must support coal, firewood, and other local energy sources |
| Severe shortage of skilled technicians | Remote mines and rural farms lack electrical/mechanical maintenance staff | Equipment sits broken for weeks waiting for foreign engineers — massive losses |
| High cost of transporting wet mining sludge | Wet coal sludge at 30%+ moisture, extremely expensive to transport by rail/road | Transport = 30%+ of operating costs; uncompetitive pricing |
| International tender barriers | World Bank, ADB, AfDB, FAO projects require ISO certification and third-party inspection | Companies without certification cannot bid — missing large orders |
| Limited investment capital | SMEs have limited financing; sensitive to payback period | Equipment must deliver rapid ROI |
| Sun drying fails completely in rainy season | Tropical rainy seasons last months — sun drying is impossible | Massive waste rot; annual production interrupted |
Key Selling Points
1,Fresh manure, wet BSG, and pressed bagasse go straight in — no pre-dewatering equipment or process
2,Output meets feed/fertilizer/fuel standards immediately — dry today, sell tomorrow
3,Install on a concrete pad — no factory building needed; dramatically reduce project cost
4,One operator for the whole line; simple drum+roller+gear design, ultra-low failure rate, locally repairable
5,Bagasse → fuel ($30-80/t), BSG → feed ($80-150/t), manure → fertilizer ($50-100/t); estimated payback 1-2 years
6,Complete turnkey: furnace + feed system + drum + dust collector + control panel + on-site installation
How It Works
The WGT Series uses a continuous rotary drying process: wet material is fed into the inclined rotating drum via feed screw. Internal lifting flights continuously pick up and drop the material as the drum rotates, ensuring thorough contact with high-temperature hot air. Moisture is reduced from 90% to ≤12% in a single pass.Dried material is continuously discharged at the outlet.
